Did you know that one of the oldest and most widely used essential oils- ylang-ylang oil – has been used for centuries as an aphrodisiac – given to emperors and kings as a fertility charm for their brides? I bet you did!!!

What you might not know about this very special oil is the way it affects men and women. Now we all know the boys and girls are different- it’s pretty obvious! But what you might not know is that ylang-ylang work primarily on a man’s brain and on women’s hormones.

When ylang-ylang is blended with certain other essential oils the effect created help’s stimulate a man’s natural thought process and brain activity during sex more so it also heightens his need to prolong the sensations that he is experiencing. What this means is his visual stimulation is heighten, his touch sensation is increased and blood follow to his penis increases.

In women the oil increases her “sexual” hormones, increasing her sex drive. This hormone increase heightens her physical responses and energy levels all of which increases her arousal. It also affects her endorphins which in turn increases her pleasure in physical sensations. All of this leads to a very good time for both of you.

More importantly this release of pleasure and enjoyment helps your health; it boosts your immune system and your energy levels…

All of these ingredients are blended in Earthlove Aphrodesia oil – go on have some health fun

Having the oil to deal with your Cellulite-trouble areas is one thing, but making sure that you really get rid of the unwanted orange-peel or cottage cheese quite another. Have a look at the video or the step-by-step instructions for a basic detox massage technique.

How to reduce cellulite – Massage technique (video)

Stet-by-Step:

Step 1: Introduction

After explaining in my first cellulite video how to determine cellulite areas, I want to show you here some basic techniques that I use in my cellulite massage work.

Step 2: The Pinch and Pull

The first technique, I call the “pinch and pull.” And basically, you gently pinch the skin and the under lining fat deposit, and you try to lift it up. Start with very gentle pressure first to get the person use to it.

Step 3: The Pinch, Pull and Wiggle

The second technique is “pinch, pull and wiggle” which is basically the same technique as the first one except for after you “pinch and pull” you wiggle a little bit. This will give you a greater range of motion of the layers of skin and will also ultimately lead to a separation of the different layers.

Step 4: Cellulite Separation

As we learn in the first video the cellulite is a junction of fat deposits with layers of the skin which reduces the circulation in that area and makes it so that it turns into a sluggish kind of tissue. Then I usually test again to see if I have achieved some separation, if the skin is more movable now.

Step 5: Repeat

In the areas where I would feel that it still, like a lot of adhesion, I would work on it again; try to, maybe pull a little bit toward the side to achieve the separation that I want.

Step 6: The Push Thumb Technique

The next technique, I call, like a “push, thumb” technique. It’s basically like a squeezing motion, dynamic squeezing motion where the fingers go against the thumb. And you will feel when the tissue is separating because it lets you glide one layer on top of the other.

Step 7: Conclusion

So overall what we try to do is we try to break down these connections of the fat deposit with the layers of the skin to increase the local circulation and to energize these areas.

Usually after a few minutes of this work you can test again with a “pinch, pull and wiggle” and you will see that the area is a lot more mobile.

If you are in the southern hemisphere, you are briskly heading into the beautiful summer days. With summer comes skirts, dresses, shorts and eventually swimsuits, bikini’s and the like. Are you ready to shed the winter layers? Well, we have some good news at least – cellulite, scars and stretch marks don’t have to be a life-sentence anymore!

What is cellulite?

It presents as a modification of skin topography evident by skin dimpling and occurs mainly in women on the pelvic region, lower limbs, and abdomen, and is caused by the herniation (formation of a hernia) of subcutaneous fat within fibrous connective tissue, leading to a padded or orange peel–like appearance.

Cellulite is a description rather than a physical object. The term was first used in the 1920s, and began appearing in English language publications in the late 1960s, with the earliest reference in Vogue magazine, “Like a swift migrating fish, the word cellulite has suddenly crossed the Atlantic.”

So what can you do?

Use A-grade all natural aromatherapy oils to treat both cellulite and scarring. To get the most from your oils, you should use and apply them as directed below.

Cellulite Oil: works on breaking down the fat cells and smoothing the appearance of cellulite on the body. Most importantly the oil works with your body to detoxify and break down excess fat cells. Make appropriate lifestyle choices too. It is very important to drink at least 5 glasses of water a day and for best results apply the oil 3 times a day to the affected area.

Tissue Derm Oil: works on improving the appearance of scars and or stretchmark’s. Using and improving your body’s natural healing processes the oil aids the skin in renewing and correcting the cells responsible for scarring and or stretchmark. This is a fabulous treatment for all skin types not only for its ability to help improve the appearance of scar’s but also its ability to return suppleness and flexibility to the skin improving the tone and feel to your body appearance. Apply to the affected areas 3 time a day.

PLEASE NOTE that tissue derm is specially made for body scarring and NOT for facial scars if you do have scars on your face please use Akattack.

Conclusion? You can get your body ready for the summer sun and fun with limited effort & by using natural products!

And of course the good news is, even if you are in the northern hemisphere, summer will visit again in a couple of months

Sinuses are the air-filled chambers found around the nose, between eye sockets and nasal passages, around the cheekbones and on both sides of the forehead.

Based on your symptoms, you can select the essential oil that will best help alleviate your concerns. A more effective treatment option would be to select a pre-blended oil that treats ailments symptom specifically. By using pre-blended oils for holistic and homeopathic uses we take the guess-work out of which essential oils are needed for a particular problem.

You can use our symptom sorter to determine which pre-blended oil will be best suited to you. Once you’ve determined which oils to use, there are different ways in which to administer them. You can use any pre-blended oils in any one of the described manners below.

In your bath water – For beginners (and individuals with sensitive skin), you can add up to 6 drops in your bathwater. You can gradually increase the dose up to 10 drops if you have become familiar with its effects.
Tips:
Always add the oils after the water has been run and ensure the water is not too hot or the oils will vaporize.
Essential oils do not dissolve in the water, but float in the surfaces, so make sure you don’t sit on them directly

Massage – 5 drops of essential oils to 10 ml of aromatherapy carrier oil. Carrier oils are generally vegetable oils used to dilute essential oils to minimize potential skin irritations.

Compress – A compress can be made with a cold or hot water. For a cold compress, add 2 or 3 drops essential oils to ice water then soak a cloth and wring it out. Lay it on the affected area for about 15 minutes. Do the same to make hot compress. Hot compress will cool quickly and must be replaced frequently.

Inhalation – Add about 10 drops to hot water then lean over the bowl and cover your head with towel for 10 minutes as you inhale normally.

Vaporization – An aromatherapy oil burner is a great way to enjoy the benefits of essential oils and fill your surroundings with the pleasant aromas of aromatherapy. You can use it as a healing tool, room freshener, deodorizer or incense alternative. Add 5 to 15 drops of aromatherapy oils to the burner’s ceramic bowl and position over the tealight candles.

Neat application. Using the Earthlove range of A-grade pre-blended oils, single drops may be applied directly to the skin and massaged to enhance absorption. Neat applications vary in the areas and techniques that can be used. We will address some of the most well known symptoms and address applications individually.

Remember that your treatment will be most effective when you consult with a qualified Aromatherapist.

Distilled essential oils have been employed as medicines since the invention of distillation in the eleventh century, when Avicenna isolated essential oils using steam distillation.

The concept of aromatherapy was first mooted by a small number of European scientists and doctors, in about 1907. In 1937, the word first appeared in print in a French book on the subject: Aromathérapie: Les Huiles Essentielles, Hormones Végétales by René-Maurice Gattefossé, a chemist. An English version was published in 1993. In 1910, Gattefossé burned a hand very badly in a laboratory explosion. The hand developed gas gangrene (a deadly form of gangrene), which he successfully, and intentionally, treated with lavender oil.

Aromatherapy can (basically) be defined as the art and science of utilizing naturally extracted aromatic essences from plants to balance, harmonize and promote the health of body, mind and spirit. It is an art and science, which seeks to explore the physiological, psychological and spiritual realm of the individual’s response to aromatic extracts as well as to observe and enhance the individual’s innate healing process.

Aromatherapists often employ the use of blended oils which is an oil created by expertly blending together specific oils to create a syptom / remedy specific oil. These blends offer far better results provided that you make sure you purchase from a reputable reseller.

The Earthlove opinion?

Even if you’ve never explored the wonderful properties of aromatherapy oils, you can start with a simple lemon solution to use as a cleaning liquid or Eucalyptus as a vaporizing agent when coughs and colds start bothering you and your family. So here’s our list – our Top 10 so to speak…

Our Top 10 Oils

Lavender oil; an oil with relaxing properties that can also be used to treat wounds and burns
